Warming up winter in Santa Eulalia

Join in on fiesta celebrations or enjoy the colourful atmosphere of the carnival.

Wanting to see a more authentic side of Ibiza? Santa Eulalia gives you lots of reasons to visit the island's third largest town this month. Yes, it's fiesta time, when the town holds a series of events culminating in the vivid colours and bright energy of the carnival parade at the end of the month.

If you are here this Sunday 5 February, you can get started in the fiesta fun with Rock ‘n' Bars, which gives you live music from island rock bands like Windrose and The Rockola Project. Plus, there are 20 bars and restaurants doing a beer and a pincho for just €2.

Those wanting to appreciate Santa Eulalia at a quieter time of year will find there are all kinds of things to do. The town has the reputation of being the gastronomic and cultural centre of the island with a vast choice of restaurants serving up all kinds of cuisines.

On the 11th, you might want to head to Plaza España at 22 h for a free concert given by legendary Spanish pop group, Los Secretos. Even if Spanish is not your first language, this open-air concert in the heart of the twon will lift your spirits and put a smile on your face.

If you want to see some traditional Ball Pages folk dancing, then the island group Es Broll will be performing after the mass on the main celebration day of 12 February, also the patron saint's day, at Puig D'en Missa at around 12 h. Later on you can see them perform again at 13.30 h in Plaza Espana, followed by live music in the streets.

Santa Eulalia does its own celebration of the island wide carnival events at the end of the month on 28 February. You'll see floats filled with smiling people, dressed up as characters from film and music. The best thing to do is to get out onto the streets and join in the fun. More details on this year's carnivals soon.

Now is the time to come and appreciate a more tranquil town before the summer arrives. Got your ticket yet?
