Although Ibiza evokes its hippie heritage at every opportunity, some parties retain that organic vibe more than others. One of these is Nightmares On Wax's Wax Da Jam.
It's a mixture of emotions - half sorrow, half jubilation - that the party's ninth season wraps up on Thursday 6 September at its spiritual home of Las Dalias. The fourth and final instalment again sees Nightmares On Wax preside over affairs at the hippie stronghold of the north.
With another dazzling year almost under the belt, 2018 will be remembered as the year that N.O.W. AKA George Evelyn performed the music from his Warp album Shape the Future live.
While there will be no live show this coming Thursday, attendees will be treated to delights in the form of guest invites to some pretty notable peers.
George has called on the big guns to bring the curtain down in style, as Defected head honcho Simon Dunmore joins him in the booth for some back-to-back action. Knowing how deep and varied Dunmore's record collection runs, this will be a treat for all involved.
Meanwhile, in the garden, sounds come courtesy of Andy Wilson and Adam Regan. The veteran DJs will be spinning their brand of Balearic beat under the stars until midnight before the action moves exclusively inside.
Wax Da Jam continues to lead the way as a beacon on best practice. By banning use of plastic straws, they set a shining example of what should be industry standard. We hope this simple but effective initiative is adopted by other island venues in the near future.
What better feeling than partying the night away, whilst knowing you are helping save the planet at the same time?
Away from the music and the ethos of the party, Las Dalias is a gem of a venue that deserves multiple visits whenever the opportunity arises. Its renowned open-air restaurant provides the perfect spot to fuel-up prior to dancing the night away.
Alternatively, more casual eaters can grab a range of snacks from on-site stall vendors. Burgers, piadinas and burritos are all available. In fitting with Las Dalias ethos, the emphasis is on local and sustainable ingredients.
For those who have no appetite, you can always peruse the various stalls at the adjoining market. A world of garments and spiritual trinkets awaits, including hand-woven yoga mats and dreamcatchers.
Wave goodbye to Wax Da Jam in 2018 at what is set to be one of the closing parties of the season. On top of everything, these are arguably the best value tickets of any party.
