The Meet&Meat Barbeque Party at Jabeque Dreams Aparthotel is set to become a top Sunday destination for holidaymakers. We went down to get a good feed with some delicious food… in the hope, too, that it would shake off our Saturday night induced hangovers.
Put together a gorgeous sea-view, sangria and as much grilled meat as you can eat, and you've got yourself a tasty recipe for a perfect afternoon on Ibiza.
Grilled to perfection
I am a barbeque lover. I don't know whether it's a British thing, but anytime I can smell searing meat then I turn into a Bloodhound dog. If you've got the grill out within a two-mile radius, then I'll be round with two cans of beer in my hand and some sausages. Naturally, I jumped at the chance to try out the Meet&Meat Barbeque.
To get a full-taste-impression, we opted for the mixed plate, but it was nice to have a choice. It was all-you-can-eat, but I was surprised at how much food was brought over. There was a delicious char-grilled flank steak, juicy ribs, a spiced sausage, a monster of a jacket potato and a succulent piece of chicken with grill marks that'd make it on the front cover of Barbeque Playboy (this needs to be a thing).
As my mouth was watering, our photographer Mike had to restrain me as he took pictures. It was in front of me, right there, but I had to wait for a short minute; which felt like hours. If anything, it probably made the food taste better, but Mike, I'm sorry, next time you're not allowed to come.
I finished the lot in what was probably a Meet&Meat record. Even the side salad. It was delightfully washed down by two punchy sangrias – albeit a bit too quickly. At least my hangover was gone.
Perfect setting
Located on the seafront between Playa D'en Bossa and Figueretas, the scenes were idyllic. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere was relaxed. It felt like a typical Sunday as a calming mood washed over me.
By the pool, a DJ was spinning some soulful classics to a mixed group of hotel guests and barbeque aficionados.
There was plenty of space to lounge, sit and chat with the international crowd of people there that day. But if you'd prefer to keep to yourself, then you could. After leaving, I felt rejuvenated, but also eased.
If you're a serious carnivore then Meat&Meet at Jabeque Dreams Aparthotel will get your taste buds firing. It did for us and we are sure it will for you!
