A set of two new walking books covering Ibiza have been launched by Secret Seeker and are the first new walking guides covering the island in 20 years. The two new guides, entitled Secret Walks Ibiza North and Secret Walks Ibiza South have been authored by Rob Smith, who also runs the Ibiza Walking Association (IWA) and includes both coastal walks and lots of ancient trails and pathways that crisscross the interior.
Walking is a great all-year-round thing to do on the island because of the generally good weather, plus Ibiza really does have some stunning and diverse natural beauty as well as incredible networks of old pathways and trails.
As Rob points out: “At different times of year you can enjoy wild flowers, almond blossom by moonlight, fruit harvests, fresh asparagus and wine festivals.”
This island has around 210km of coastline and great viewpoints like Sa Talaia, lots of pretty villages like picturesque villages of San Agustín and Santa Inés as well as places like the lovely verdant valley of Es Broll de Buscatell.
The guides contain a great variety of different walks for all ability levels. There is everything from short and easy walks for beginners and families to long and extreme ones for experienced walkers. All can be shortened or lengthened depending on what people want to do and the guide also gives advice on walks that are best for beaches, sunsets, nature lovers and much more. There’s even recommended restaurants, bars and cafes for each route.
Rob is also the author of Secret Beaches: Ibiza and it was whilst researching this that he fell in love with the island and decided to do these new guides. To show his love via his work with the IWA, Rob has been clearing old pathways and making them accessible once more to all.
The books are priced at €15 euros each and are available in English, Spanish and German.
