So, you thought the Ibiza 2014 parties had finished? Think again! Ibiza is stuffed with cool things to do this month and right at the top of the list of places to go is Santa Eulalia's Babylon Beach.
Located in a beautiful cove, less than 1km from Santa Eulalia's town centre just off the Es Caná road, Babylon Beach regularly hosts full-moon parties featuring Wax da Jam DJs and routinely offers a whole host of cool activities, from kayaking to paddle-boards.
They also have a very nice onsite boutique, presided over by the extremely stylish Kate and stuffed with a glamorous range of boho-chic fashion that's ideal for that classically Bohemian Ibiza look. Don't be shy, ask her advice, this lady really knows her Ibiza fashion. Add an onsite bakery and a kitchen serving up lush homemade and gluten free cuisine from breakfast until late at night and you've got, dear reader, an absolute winner! Oh and they grow their own organic fruit and vegetables, right here on the island too.
So unsurprisingly, we've heard great things about Babylon Beach this year and looking at their October programme, it's easy to see why. Here are some dates for your diaries.
Full moon party
Tonight - October 8th, sees Babylon's last full moon party of the year. Featuring rare grooves and soulful sounds, not to mention the fantastic buzz that brings Babylon Beach to life, expect great live entertainment and of course plenty of great food and cocktails.
Resident DJ George Solar will be joined by special guest, We Love's DJ Mr Doris playing a full set, plus Paul Powell and the Hot Ice will be playing at 7.30pm.
Art and performance
From tomorrow, October 9th through until Saturday 11th, for the first time, Gallery SoToDo comes to ibiza to organise a 3-day congress of international & local art and performance artists to explore the theme 'de Nada' (you're welcome).
Nine professional performers will visit the island to share their work. They will perform alongside artists from right here in Ibiza. Every night you can expect six unique performances encompassing visual arts, dance, theatre, and sound. Each artist will interpret the theme ‘de nada‘ using their own personal style and the organisers assure us that each day will be completely different.
Starting at 7pm on Thursday 9th and at 5pm on Friday 10th and Saturday the 11th, this cultural ‘happening' is sure to be a uniquely rich and inspiring cultural event. What's more, on both Friday and Saturday evenings, audience participation is positively encouraged. High five Babylon!
Halloween
Not content with all that, Babylon have also organised a family friendly Halloween party which happily, falls on a Friday this year (yea!). Whilst Ibiza is rather famous for its legendary Halloween celebrations (think Boutique Hostal Salinas, Bambuddha Grove etc) many existing parties are very much for the adults.
So we at Ibiza Spotlight are impressed to see that Babylon Beach are organising a celebration for the whole family. Witches, warlocks, ghosts and goblins are all welcome!
Starting at 3.30pm, kids will be entertained in the venue's enclosed ‘Babylonitos' kids play area supervised by sensible (grown-up) monsters from the professionals at Kids In Ibiza.
Here's how it works: you abandon your children (reluctantly, of course) to the clutches of the monsters where together, they will prepare a witches stew, try their luck at apple bobbing, wrap a ‘mummy', make donut danglers, try some creepy crafts, petrifying paintings and more! Leaving you, dear reader, free to eat, drink, chat and be scary...
Add a family friendly cinema and special kid's snacks and we're talking perfection, mums and dads. What's more, it costs just €5 per child for a fabulous day of fun and games.
The event will be separated into age appropriate sections with craft and games, dinner and a movie for the under 10s while teens and pre-teens can enjoy their own activities from 6.00pm.
Bookings are essential for dinner. Please call 971 332 181 to reserve and mention Ibiza Spotlight.
