The long awaited municipal swimming pool in the village of San Juan finally opened last month. Around 80% of the total cost was financed by central government with San Juan itself making up the rest of the costs.
Like many projects these days cutbacks had to be made and the original plans for an eight lane pool were trimmed down to just four. However, perhaps the most interesting feature of the pool complex for people who are holidaying in the area was completed as per the plans.
The Spa area containing a Jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath will be very attractive to clients who are staying in the Spotlight villas in the area. They all have their own pools but for that little bit extra relaxation there are a good selection all within about 10 minutes' drive from the centre of San Juan.
Find here holiday villas near San Juan. They're all conveniently located for a short trip into the village, if not for a session in the Spa, then maybe for a meal in one of the restaurants and cafes there.
The advantage of a municipal Spa over most of the luxury facilities in Ibiza's top hotels is of course price. The disadvantage is that for some reason known only to council decision makers is that the opening hours are rather odd – Monday to Saturday from 09.00 to 14.00 and then from 17.00 to 21.00 with a yawning gap in the middle of the day when the sacred siesta takes place.
