Step Forward: Laidback Luke

Selection Number 4 comes in with his highly anticipated parties for Cream and further dates at Pacha.

Last year it was F*** Me I'm Famous and Roger Sanchez's Release Yourself parties that were lucky enough to have this talented Dutchman as guest to rock the crowd at their events. This year Luke is literally taking a step forward with a busier schedule and his own parties, we took 5 minutes with the horizontal one.

Spotlight: Luke, we've picked you out along with Nick Curly, Joris Voorn and Funkagenda as artists we're predicted are on the cusp of great things in Ibiza. How have your Ibiza experiences been so far?

Wow, that's fantastic! Thanks a lot! Over the years my Ibiza experiences has been increasing career wise. I remember not playing on the island at all and was dreaming to be in between the line ups one day.

What have you got planned this year? Where are you playing?

Apart from joining David Guetta's F*ck Me I'm Famous and Pete Tong's Wonderland I'm a resident at Cream Amnesia as well. I'm bringing my own party to Cream this year, taking over the terrace at Amnesia with my Super You&Me imprint.

What does Ibiza represent, musically speaking, in terms of a showcase for you as an artist or brand?

What you got on Ibiza is the core of house music lovers from everywhere of the globe. This makes it a sort of Mecca to play to play for. It's a good way to showcase and test a lot of new tracks as going deeper sometimes.
Ibiza always gives you an imprint of what's to come for the rest of the year.

What is the whole Super You & Me concept?

Super You & Me is my own party. I think a lot of electronic music parties are way too serious and I try to bring back the stupid fun you can have just hanging out with your friends. I've always wanted to be a superhero, so I get to dress like one on my nights! And the crowd too as the dresscode is superheroes! It adds up to the fun and picking an outfit will let you live up to a night properly. Apart from bringing a fellow DJ collegue, Super You&Me should also be a platform for new and up and coming talent I train on my forum.

I know you're a huge Cream and Amnesia fan, I'd regularly see you down at the club even after you'd been playing at Pacha the same night. What is the big attraction with this party?

I just love the terrace and absolutely love the people at Cream! We always feel welcomed, and the line ups are brilliant! It was such a great opportunity to check out DJs I really like, I've never heard play before.

Ok time for you chance to plug what you want? news, gossip, releases, collaborations, anything personal you want to get off your chest!!!

Working really hard to finish off my album at the moment. It's coming along fine! Just beware of a Luke originals overload soon : )
