Ibiza town takes its turn to celebrate next month when it rolls two public holidays into one courtesy of its Earth Festival. Santa Maria on 5th August and San Cyriac on the 8th are sandwiched in a programme of entertainment that this year has a budget of €114,000.

In addition there are lots of sporting activities – swimming, cycling, beach volley and clay pigeon shooting – to name just a few, exhibitions and of course to round it all off the Ibiza Jazz Festival from 25th to 29th.

Plaza Reina Sofía: Square below the city wall, left of the upper end of the Vara de Rey at the beginning of the street Juan Xico. See map
Baluard Sant Pere: Bastion on the northwest corner of the city wall of Ibiza Town. Enter the walled old town Dalt Vila through the main city gate (Portal de las Tablas), pass the square Plaza de la Villa and go straight ahead up to the little square Plaza del Sol with the entrance to the bastion. Or enter Dalt Vila through the pedestrian city gate left on the Plaza Reina Sofía (see above), this leads directly to the Plaza del Sol. See map
