The former Military Command Headquarters which occupies a dominating position above the island capital and is built in the Mallorcan style has now, at last, been declared a protected building. Politicians took note of the opinions of several august bodies before voting on the decision.
The ferry port of Ibiza will finally get a bus stop after years of being bus-less. The new service will start soon and will be run by one of the small mini-buses which shuttle round the old town. Ideal for when 900 people and their luggage disembark from the Barcelona super ferry!
Ferry company, Iscomar, is to introduce a new service this month from Ibiza to Formentera. The 'Pitiusa Nova' a 50 metre catamaran with capacity for 300 passengers and 36 cars will make 4 journeys a day in low season and 5 in summer.
