A highlight in the Ibiza season calendar, the International Music Summit (IMS) has announced the keynote speakers of its 12th edition. Once again exceptional, they represent important cultural topics which impact the electronic music scene.
The curated line-up of guest speakers is organised by IMS in collaboration with shesaid.so, a global network of female music leaders.
Founder of shesaidso, Andreea Magdalina will address the summit in the opening keynote speech. Her topic titled The Future of Feminism Is Male - Gender Diversity in the Workplace will launch the campaign for an Inclusion Rider in Electronic Music.
Following Pete Tong's moving tribute to Avicii at last year's summit, the father of the Swedish DJ, Klas Bergling joins the debate. He will be discussing working within the field of mental illness and suicide prevention, plus the progress of the Tim Bergling Foundation.
The Mental Health Crisis Debate follows with Professor Green, Luciano, Claire Scivier and Madame Ghandi sitting down to discuss this critical subject.
Global head of artist relations at Apple Music, Zane Lowe teams up with IMS co-founder Pete Tong in the Keynote Interview to discuss the forward-thinking vision and future of electronic music on the streaming platform.
In the debate led by Resident Advisor, clubbing figureheads will unite to talk about the direction of club culture and whether it is heading in the right direction. These will include the founder of Output, Nicholas Matar; the founder of Fabric, Keith Riley; Human Rias from MMA; and IMS's own Pete Tong, as well as SOPHIE, Richie Hawtin and Kae Burke the co-founder of House of Yes.
The musical discussions continue with Streaming in the DJ Booth and The Politics of Dancing, Restoring Community to the Dancefloor and Investigating Intersectionality to open dialogues and encourage reflection on the current state of the industry.
As well as the annual digital debate, names such as Adam Beyer & Ida Engberg, Jax Jones and Joseph Capriati will lend their knowledge over interviews and keynote addresses.
Taking place between Wednesday 22 and Friday 24 May at the Hard Rock Hotel, this gathering of music intellectuals and influential industry personnel continues to serve as a platform for integral debate and discussion, leading the way in education, inspiration and motivation with the electronic music industry.
Wrapping up the yearly meeting, delegates and party heads will venture to the IMS Dalt Vila fiesta for an evening of back-to-back DJ splendour, on top of various other events throughout the week.
