Urban Thursdays out at sea it was. For the first time ever, this past summer a boat party with a non-electronic music policy was launched in 2017. Presented by the team behind the longstanding and very successful Cirque De La Nuit boat parties, the Funk 'n Soul boat set sail on Thursdays from Playa d'en Bossa on Ibiza's biggest party vessel - the Ibiza Boat Club. If house and techno isn't your thing and you wanted some hip-hop, RnB, funk and soul while you were out in the sun, Funk 'n Soul @ Ibiza Boat Club might have been exactly what you were looking for!
Funk 'n Soul @ Ibiza Boat Club ran an open bar formula out at sea, including soft drinks, beer, cava, sangria as well as Bellini and 'sex on the boat' cocktails. You don't like to queue at the bar for your drinks? No problem as the staff served drinks directly to the dancefloor! Moreover, there was also a swim stop inside turquoise waters to cool you down if the dancers or the beats got too hot for you.
Once you were back in Playa d'en Bossa, you had a few hours to relax, get changed and ready for the night. The boat party ticket also included TWO club entries: one entry to any night at Sankeys was included in the ticket (except Opening/Closing nights), plus a €5 discount on your first drink inside the club. Other than that Funk 'n Soul @ Ibiza Boat Club also provided a second club deal, with details communicated directly at the check-in for the boat party.
Over the last few years, Cirque De La Nuit (makers of Funk 'n Soul) has turned into one of the main players on the boat party market and especially their catamaran Ibiza Boat Club has been making big waves. A quality product and a boat party you just can't go wrong with, it is the only boat party on the island with a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ
- Your ticket includes the boat party and one entry to any night at Sankeys (not valid for opening and closing party, entry before 00:30 h on all other nights) including a 5€ discount on your first drink inside the club. A second club deal is included as well, details to be communicated directly at the check-in for the boat party.
- The pre-party starts at 13:00 h at Dunes Bar in Playa d'en Bossa, close to Ushuaïa and Hï (see map). Please arrive at pre party / redemption early, with your printed ticket and ready to board. You must exchange your ticket for a wristband by 13:30 h latest. Funk 'n Soul staff will then walk you to the boat. If you don't redeem your ticket for a wristband by 13:30 h, your boat entry is not guaranteed. In case of no-show no refund will be issued.
- If you're staying in San Antonio, you can enjoy a free bus in the morning to get to the check-in in Playa d'en Bossa. The meeting point for that is 12:00 h noon at Itaca bar on the promenade. There is no organised bus for your return trip after the boat so use the public buses or taxis. Also, you'll have to reserve your place on the bus in advance (see instructions on ticket once you've booked the boat party).
- The boat leaves from the Playa d'en Bossa jetty (next to Hotel Tres Carabelas) and runs from 15:00 h - 18:30 h.
- The boat party includes open bar (soft drinks, beer, cava, sangria, bellini and 'sex on the boat' cocktails) as well as a swim stop (professional life guards on duty).
- Club tickets can be collected directly at the pre party or generally anytime between 11am and 9pm (7pm in May) at Dunes bar, just go see CDLN/Funk 'n Soul staff.
- Cirque De La Nuit/Funk 'n Soul reserves the right to reschedule the boat party to another time within 24 hours with no refund, due to weather or mechanical problems.
- Excessive drinking on a boat is dangerous. CDLN/Funk 'n Soul is commited to promoting responsible alcohol consumption. Any use of drugs won't be tolerated. Anyone not adhering to this will not be allowed to board the boat, attend the club night or receive a refund.
- Travel on the boat is at your own risk. The vendor accepts no responsibility for any injuries sustained while on board, although the boat is insured under Spanish law.
