Tunes of the month | November

Our favourite tracks from October.

Phew! Another Ibiza summer bites the dust. Not gonna lie, we're all in need of some serious rest and rejuvenation. At least for a few weeks. Well, maybe just until Halloween. Just as they do every season, closing parties have taken their toll. We're not getting any younger.

Fortunately, there's been some great tracks released in the last month. Some of them have even been tearing up Ibiza dancefloors all summer. We've been patiently waiting for them to officially drop and that moment has finally arrived.

Join us in kicking-back in the solitude of your own bedroom or living room, putting in your earphones and enjoying this selection of music from some homely comforts.

MADVILLA | Booze Cruise | Heavy House Society | 21 October

Providing a nice bridge between this and our last release feature which we published in May, the architect of "ghetto deep returns to the chart. MADVILLA was invited to play at Bora Bora during its final run this summer, but we reckon we'll be seeing lots more of him in seasons to come.

To honour the successful return of Ibiza's boat parties this summer, we've chosen Booze Cruise from his new EP on Heavy House Society.

Antss | Rave | Hottrax | 7 October

Next to be served up, is Rave from Antss on Hot Creation's sub label Hottrax. The bassline positively purrs like a Harley Davidson. Paradise was one of Ibiza 2022's hottest parties at its new Amnesia home and we heard this one there a few times.

We make Antss another producer to keep tabs on.

Rampa & WhoMadeWho | Everyday (Jennifer Cardini Remix) | Embassy One | 14 October

Jennifer Cardini put several Ibiza appearances to her name this summer, including Amnesia, DC10, Akasha and Freddies - and we couldn't have been more thrilled. Each time we caught her, she was ace. Not that we expected anything less.

We hope that this a springboard to more bookings next summer, because she rules. Her atmospheric new remix of Rampa and WhoMadeWho's Everyday has a haunting quality. If you like this, watch out for Shimza's Afro-edged version too.

CAMELPHAT & Anyma | The Sign | Afterlife | 28 October

Residencies from CAMELPHAT and Afterlife enjoyed some crossover success this summer in Playa d'en Bossa. Both the lads from Liverpool and Tale Of Us exchanged in guesting at the others' party. This one got played lots at both and it's finally seeing the light of day.

The Sign is a hook-up with Anyma, which is the solo endeavour of Matteo Milleri.

Anfisa Letyago | Rosso Profondo | Factory 93 Records | 14 October

Rosso Profondo has gained attention for all the wrong reasons, after it was singled out for plagiarism, both unfairly and inaccurately in our opinion. Predictably, the furore surrounding the allegations had undertones of misogyny - and the reactions to the claims blatant discrimination.

As far as we can tell, the track incorporates a similar vocal to Dozzy Donato's 2019 track Parola. But that's where the similarities end. Personally, we think it rocks. Anfisa Letyago has had a great summer of parties on Ibiza, both Hï Ibiza's opening and closing parties amongst them.

Ashibah | Fall Out | This Never Happened | 18 October

If she isn't already, then put well-travelled Ashibah on your radar. Her productions regularly feature self-recorded vocals from the rising Danish-Egyptian producer. Fall Out is our pick from the three track You May Forget EP, recently out on Lane 8's This Never Happened imprint.

Here you get a sense for the all encompassing artist that Ashibah is.

Gorgon City feat Flirta D | Sidewindah | Realm Records | 21 October

Gorgon City can feel mighty proud at how their tenure on Monday nights at Amnesia went this summer. Sidewindah was one of their weapons which garnered huge reactions on The Terrace. Perhaps in the Garage-influence seeping through, but it sounds fresh.

If this isn't enough to fix your Gorgon City cravings, then check-out Arielle Free's new remix of Tell Me It's True - also out now.

Chloé Caillet feat Mikhail Beltran | NYWTF | CircoLoco Records | 14 October

Chloé Caillet is another DJ whose had a huge summer on Ibiza. Whether setting the booth in the Wild Corner alight as part of PVBLIC XCESS or alongside her partner Ana Sting at El Baile, she's certainly made an impression.

We've featured her a number of times already, but couldn't pass including her again here. NYWTF features spaced-out commentary on her Big Apple birthplace, courtesy of Mikhail Beltran. It's yet another solid release on the increasingly reliant CircoLoco Records.

Alias K | Snow In Summer | Turbolento Records | 14 October

Former Rooftop 9 at INNSiDE by Melia resident DJ Alias K delivers our next entry. Out on Turbolento Records, Snow In Summer is set to be the last release under this project for the foreseeable, as Aleissa revisits her former production moniker La Kosh.

Stay tuned for fresh material of a different nature coming soon.

Max Dean feat Mr V | The Future Looks Bright | Repopulate Mars | 28 October

Ending on a high? You bet.

Here's a track that's tormented Ibiza dancefloors all summer. Lee Foss' Repopulate Mars is the label which has pulled off a massive coup by signing it. That vocal cry is just so damn hypnotic. Huge support came from Michael Bibi, Richy Ahmed and Marco Faraone amongst others.

Max Dean's stock continues to rise. If you didn't know already, look out for more from him.

Unless you're lucky enough to be here for Halloween, it's likely you'll be partying elsewhere in the world in the coming weeks. Keep an ear out for these tracks.
