Tunes of the month | May

Our favourite releases from April.

Two things. Firstly, it's International Music Summit week. Chat, chat, chat, network, network, network, party, party, party.

Secondly, Ibiza's clubs only bloody open at the end of the week - hurrah!

Ahead of the first real season for two years, we take a look at what tunes might be big in the coming weeks.

Featuring a healthy blend of fresh talent and scene veterans, April's chart hosts music from Whoyostro, Mindshake, Nu Groove and more.

Excuse us for being rushed off our feet, but let's get well and truly stuck in.

MADVILLA | Gelato Dream | Knee Deep In Sound | 15 April

Summer is coming. Time to get the ice cream in. Cool off with this refreshing delight courtesy of MADVILLA on Knee Deep In Sound. Heavily touted by Jamie Jones, US-born, UK-based MADVILLA displays his self-patented "ghetto deep" style on this reduced piece of House.

Chanel Carmichael | Trust | Whoyostro | 21 April

Classically-trained pianist turned DJ Chanel Carmichael has just dropped her debut electronic music track. Released on Whoyostro, Trust's chopped female vocals and glitchy minimal synths, are known as a key component of her DJ sets.

Ben Sterling | Peeps In Da Back | Mindshake | 15 April

Arriving on Mindshake, acid-tinged, jackin' groover Peeps In De Back, is one of the latest productions from the prodigious Ben Sterling. After playing on its line-ups in destinations around the world, Ben Sterling plays for Music On at Pacha Ibiza this summer.

Jamie 3:26 | Feelin' It | Nu Groove | 1 April

Somewhat surprisingly, Jamie 3:26 graces Nu Groove for the first time with deep cut Feelin' It. Surprising in the sense of how long it's taken. Surely an ideal pairing on paper. Jamie 3:26 is one of the welcomed names to appear on Glitterbox's extensive 2022 roster.

Far from being a "retro" party, Defected's disco odyssey pushes the envelope more than most.

VONDA7 | Arrivals (Artche Remix) | art | werk | 1 April

Adopted Berliner VONDA7 returns to her fledgling art | werk imprint with melodic number Arrivals. Remixer Artche opens proceedings at Dalt Vila for season curtain-raiser IMS Grand Finale this Friday. Get us inside that castle under the Mediterranean sun.

Last remaining tickets on sale now.

Alinka feat Robert Owens | Midnight Ride | HE.SHE.THEY. | 15 April

Two Chicago players get together for our next entry. Unsung hero Alinka and the voice of House music Robert Owens unite on Midnight Ride. Keep a look out for a forthcoming remix from Joyce Muniz too. Meanwhile, HE.SHE.THEY. get three Fridays at Amnesia in 2022.

Join the weird and wonderful people of Ibiza for the very reasonable early bird price of €33.

Lilly Palmer | We Control | Drumcode | 8 April

Emergent Lilly Palmer is one of the most thrilling new names in the business. We Control is a satisfying Drumcode debut exhibiting her stealth-like ability to work a dancefloor. Catch Lilly alongside a wealth of Techno talent at Amnesia Opening Party on 21 May.

PVBLIC XCESS feat Pat Kalla | Don't Wanna (Get Down) | XCESS RECORDS | 22 April

Formed of Chloé Caillet and Josh Ludlow, double-act PVBLIC XCESS hook-up with French-Cameroonian Afro-Disco singer Pat Kalla on Don't Wanna (Get Down). It's our highlight from the exceptional Wale Wale EP on their own trusted XCESS RECORDS source.

Here on the island? One half of the outfit, Chloé Caillet, plays the sold out Hï Ibiza's Opening Party 23:00 to 00:30.

Damian Lazarus & Gorgon City | Start Over | Crosstown Rebels | 15 April

Both Damian Lazarus and Gorgon City both start respective Ibiza residencies this summer. The former alongside Black Coffee in Hï Ibiza's Club Room and the latter with Sonny Fodera at Amnesia Presents. We're sure this collab between the two will be huge at both.

Enzo Siragusa | Nothing Matters | FUSE London | 8 April

Enzo Siragusa's first solo release in two years was always going to big, but his return to FUSE exceeds expectations. Nothing Matters is our final track this month. Adding progressive influence to his trademark Deep-Tech style, Enzo creates a peak-time banger.

Enzo has dates confirmed all over the island this summer, including Paradise at Amnesia and Octan's new Sunday party ENCORE.

Wherever you're partying this month, but especially if you're dancing on Ibiza, keep an ear out for these tracks.

Remember that tickets for all of the parties can be found on our comprehensive party calendar with the majority available with the most flexible booking conditions in the industry.
