Cañas’n’Roll rocks back for 2018

Bigger and better than ever, the music event lands back in San José and around with lots of new surprises.

After a one year absence Cañas'n'Roll, the event that brings you live music plus drinks and light bites, lands back in San José bigger and better than before for 2018.

The entire event starts this Friday 23 November going all the way through to 22 December and is filled with the usual music-filled weekends and also introduces some great value €10 meals, and a special day dedicated to swing music.

Fans of previous events will be pleased to hear that the popular beer and pincho deal in the participating bars is still on, coming in at a keenly-priced €3 for the two and starting on 1 December.

This year, the field widens for the bars taking part, moving beyond the San José village borders with bars in Cala de Bou, San Agustín and Cala Vadella. Head to the event's website for the full bar music line-up.

Menja'n'Roll is being introduced offering mains dishes of food plus drink in lots of the participating bars including Raco Verd in San José, Chimichurri in San Augustin, Ca na Sofia in Cala Vadella and CBBC Deeva Sunset on Port des Torrent beach.

A big highlight of this year's event will be the day devoted to swing on 15 December. From 13:00 you can catch a series of performances from the likes of Musicaires Swing Band, Blues Mafia and and the Muriel Grossman Quartet.

On the same day from 21:00 head to the Can Jeroni cultural centre for a concert with American soul star Eli ”Paperboy” Reed, winner of Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2009 MOJO Awards.

Each Friday back at Can Jeroni, film fans can go and see a selection of top movies with Irish musical Sing Street on 9 December in the original language version. The remainder of the films will be all in Spanish, so brush up on your language skills now.
