Pikes, Michael's favourite Ibiza summer dancefloor of choice.
Going out clubbing is definitely one of my favourite pastimes. Like most of the people who visit or live on Ibiza, I find no better time than hitting the dance floor listening to some great tunes spun by a DJ extraordinaire.
Being within the music industry, I have a lot of time to absorb many styles of music. From hot releases from underground labels to secret dancefloor cuts to special selects that eventually make their way into my music collection.
Over the past year, I have been - to put it lightly - been obsessed with a leftfield and alternative house. Getting to know the sound of special labels - such as 17 Steps, Food Music and Hot Haus Recs - makes up my daily dose of clubbing sounds.
Big club hitters from those labels like Pool Party Music by Mall Grab and LF10 by Dusky have naturally made their way into this Dance Jams playlist. These stompers never fail to go off at a rave that's for certain.
It wouldn't be a proper Ibiza Spotlight playlist without some dance floor winners straight from the White Isle. Tell You No Lie by Floorplan was a summer anthem in 2016 when I first visited the island and Neutron Dance by Krystal Klear has had clubbers grooving all through summer 2018.
Lastly, a shout out to two up and coming Irish producers who deserve some serious attention. Kettama and Mark Blair have both been blazing the way through the scene with their unique old-school sounds - definitely two to watch out for in 2019.
