BBC 1Xtra announces Ibiza Rocks take-over

The popular urban UK radio station is coming over to the White Isle for the first time ever.

BBC Radio 1Xtra is taking over Ibiza Rocks on Saturday 4 August for what's set to be one of the biggest pool parties of the summer. The popular urban radio station will be heading to the White Isle for the first time ever – and it's bringing some huge acts along for the ride. Hop on.

Expect energy and entertainment with Charlie Sloth and DJ Target on hand to host the unforgettable daytime takeover at Ibiza Rocks.

There will be live performances from UK rap star Wretch 32, Manchester grime powerhouse Bugzy Malone and award-winning producer Steel Banglez.

MistaJam, DJ Charlsey and Sian Anderson will be providing that recognisably cool Radio 1Xtra sound from behind the decks. Other acts include Lady Leshurr, Nines, Not3s, Ray BLK, B Young, Kojo Funds, Lotto Boyzz and RAYE.

Here's what Charlie Sloth had to say himself: "Ibiza has changed a lot over the last five years with rap and grime being embraced on the island in a huge way. So 1Xtra making its first appearance at the legendary Ibiza Rocks is huge and crazy exciting!

And if that were not enough, 1Xtra's sister channel BBC Radio 1 will be soundtracking San Antonio's famous sunset at Café Mambo on Friday 3 August and 5 August. Over at Mambo, Annie Mac and her Ibiza cohort will be warming up what's set to be a big Radio 1 weekend on Ibiza.

She'll be joined by the legendary Pete Tong, as well as B.Traits, Danny Howard, Monki and Benji B. There are also some special guests who have yet to be announced so stay tuned.

Tickets for the Ibiza Rocks takeover will be up for grabs at 20:00 Thursday 14 June during DJ Target's BBC Radio 1Xtra show.
