Your ultimate guide to villas in Ibiza’s south

Our guide gives you tips on some great villas to stay in and top things to do.

Villas in the south offer a superb set of great and varied accommodations with lots of things to do around you, whether that's chilling on the rocks or dancing the night away. Here, we guide you to some of the best villas in this location with tips on great things to do too.

Southern style: Talamanca and Ibiza Town

That vista at the Sea view villa Talamanca

If it's an impressive vista you want then Ibiza Town, Playa d'en Bossa and the salt flats of Las Salinas will give you just that. You might want to try out this six-bedroomed villa that gives incredible views of the sea near Talamanca, for affordable privacy and stunning views of Ibiza Town. You are steps away from Talamanca Beach, which is lined with beach bars and restaurants serving fresh seafood and jugs of sangria, brought towel-side or at a table in the shade.

Another more luxurious offering can be found at this villa in Roca Llisa. You will be draped in modern European elegance and are just on the doorstep of Ibiza's only golf course. It offers seclusion and privacy for those looking to get away from it all but is also close enough to pop into Santa Eulalia or Ibiza Town for the essentials or a browse in the shops.

Both villas are near to eating hot spot the Fish Shack that springs up out of the rocks each May, serving an array of crustaceans and fresh whole fish depending on the daily catch. There is often a wait for one of the wobbly tables on the rocks, but it's worth it.

Peace and tranquillity at Luxury villa Roca Llisa

The excellent world-class restaurant Sa Punta is nearby which serves incredibly pretty and tasty dishes. Places like Pacha, Lío and Destino are also easily reached, making this location perfect for lazy days by the pool and late nights out close to home.

The south is also home to many of the island's boat charters that vary from high-end crewed and catered yachts to sailboat adventures to Formentera that stop for swimming, snorkelling and lunch. You can also take to the sea as a private day-tripper or take one of the many fast ferries to Formentera where you can carry on exploring by scooter, car or bike.

Beaches galore: Playa d'en Bossa, Es Cavallet and Las Salinas

The Modern villa Ibiza Town for those that like to be close to the action

Moving towards Ibiza Town and the beaches of Playa d'en Bossa and Las Salinas is a villa that's exclusive to Ibiza Spotlight - it's perfect for families with older children or groups that like to be close to the action. This modern Ibiza Town villa is a mid-priced residence that is quiet yet close to the old town and great for soaking up the atmosphere there as you meander down quaint alleys or stop to shop in one of the many boutiques along the port.

Las Salinas, home to iconic places like the glamorous Jockey Club or more down-to-earth Sa Trinxa beach shack offers a wide expanse of beach where you'll see the colourful club night parades go up and down the beach. It's a favourite for families, sun-seekers and the pre-, pre-party set looking to relax and soak up some rays.

For those wanting to bare it all, next door is Es Cavallet, Ibiza's famous nudist beach. Here you truly will see all shapes and sizes. A place where you really can let yourself go – just remember the sun cream!

Country fun: San Jose, Cala Vadella and Es Cubells

Cosy luxury at Sea view villa Es Cubells

If a more rural villa is your style, try this small country villa near San Jordi. It's a real bargain and is still close to the action. Apart from the beaches and nightlife, San Jordi holds a weekly Saturday second-hand market that is always buzzing with locals and visitors alike. Enjoy a cold beer, then browse the truly crazy selection of items on sale.

Just a bit up the south west coast, there is a real rural treat that's just steps away from the stunning Cala Vadella beach resort. This country villa has super sea views and a 12-metre pool allowing you to get your morning exercise in before the midday sun. Some beautiful walks in nature can be had like the one that starts at Cala Bassa Beach, from where you can hike over the hill and out to a pirate tower, walking through gorgeous sandstone hills and stopping to take a few selfies.

A bit further up the coast is the walk to Atlantis, which is challenging and highly rewarding. On the way, you will see one of the many viewpoints for the magical rock of Es Vedra, before going down to the bottom of the cliffs to a quarry where the rock was cut out for Ibiza Town's citadel Dalt Vila. Here you will find a great natural swimming cove where the more adventurous dive into the crystal-clear waters below.

Taking our tour of villas in the south down the coast to Es Cubells is a great value villa with views of Es Vedra. Compact in size, you get cosy luxury for up to six adults. It can get booked up quickly and based on its value for money and the surrounding area, it is easy to see why.

Some nice extras

In San José is a gluten-free pizza place called La Focacheria, a hidden gem offering wafer-thin oven-baked pizzas and focaccias with toppings like caramelised onion or prosciutto. There are cute little boutique beach shops and spas on most of the beaches where you can get a beach massage too.

All villas are served by the island's variety of concierge services so if you don't feel like leaving your private retreat, then just get something brought to your door. One of our favourites is the Sa Paella Club, a private caterer that come to cook the paella from a quirky cart. Along the way they teach their cooking secrets and customise it to your taste. After you've finished, the cart turns into a DJ booth for working off your meal.

Choosing a villa in the south of the island offers a great way to see a part of Ibiza you may not have seen. For villas in other locations, see our dedicated page and get a wealth of ideas for things to do on the rest of Ibiza Spotlight.
