Dig out your whistles and dust off your bucket hats. It's time to get nostalgic. Like a phoenix from the ashes, Manchester institution The Haçienda is reborn at Eden on three dates this summer as part of weekly event Religion.
In the late 80s, the infamous venue helped usher in the acid house era in the UK. This summer, it will launch its first-ever residency on the White Isle.
Although it's been 20+ years since the clubbing mecca closed its doors, its legacy lives on. Even its trademark black and yellow décor is iconic.
In its heyday, it started the career a plethora of stars. New Order, The Happy Mondays, Greg Wilson and even Laurent Garnier passed through its doors. It became the template from which many modern super-clubs are moulded.
We must point out that this will be no retro night. Instead, it promises to retain the original ethos of being musically upfront and boundary-pushing.
Religion presents FAC51/The Haçienda runs three Fridays, on 13 July, 10 August and 14 September.
In many ways, Eden represents those same hedonistic values. The San Antonio destination is thus the perfect home for both the three dates and the rest of the season.
Of course, you're invited to join the communion on Eden's heavenly dance floor each week with other legendary take-overs by Still Hot Berlin, Continuos Groove Newcastle or any Religion night more because house music is the official religion here.
Scene stalwart Terry Francis of the legendary Fabric is confirmed as a weekly resident, as well as Iain Taylor of rEJEKT.
More news coming soon but tickets are already available below. No matter the night, you will be in for a treat. No doubt about that.
