Swag Ibiza drops 2017 schedule

Ibiza's haunt for urban music lays down residencies and line-ups for season 2017.

The White Isle might be hailed as a destination for dance music fiends, but for clubbers after an urban kick, the haunt you need to know about is Swag Ibiza.

As the only club in Ibiza dedicated to urban music, the Playa d'en Bossa shelter stands to represent a different side to the island, and we're here to embrace it. With Tinie Tempah, Craig David, Stormzy and Fatman Scoop being some of the big names landing on Ibiza over the last few seasons, we've definitely got room for a little urban heat.

If you've read up to this point, we'll take a calculated guess that you'll be looking to bury yourselves in everything from hip hop, dancehall and afrobeats, to reggaetón, trap and funk. And to entice you through those doors, we're giving you a full rundown of the club's weekly roster.

Kicking off with Mondays at Swag, and you'll be rising to the sounds of hip hop, dancehall, afrobeats and R&B with residency We Love Black Music. Founded in 2011, it's cultivated a huge audience in Germany and spilled into 30 locations across Europe. The party series lands in Ibiza with residents DJ Change, DJ H-Keem and DJ Chico G, with guest DJs including DJ O'Kizz, DJ O'Nit, DJ Basic D and DJ QT. To weigh in on how far this one has come, the opening on Monday 5 June will be its 500th party – get a load of that.

Rolling into Tuesdays and your sonic selection comes in from the MASHme UP! Crew. Already owning a presence in Madrid, Lugano and cities in Italy, they're now ready to challenge the Balearics with street dance, Latin rhythms, remixes and bootlegs of hip hop, twerk-trap, reggeaton and denbow. Brought to you by Lil' Paul DJ (a.k.a Paolo Mercanzing), Sergio Vicedo and Enjoy Group, this one was born on the street which gives it both depth and a solid sense of identity.

Wednesdays are for the rebellious ladies out there who like to think of themselves as being a little bit feisty, and a big bit sassy. Bad Girls Club rolls through to the closing party on 13 September, and if you hadn't already guessed it, this is the ultimate ladies night in Ibiza, so gather your gals, get your sexy threads on and be there. In terms of tunage, you'll be rolling those hips to R&B and hip hop. Ladies in there before 1:00 receive a welcome glass of champagne, or a full bottle for groups of five.

XCANDALOUS throws down the gauntlet every Thursday with main resident, Borami. If you're a sucker for hip hip, trap and dancehall hits, this is your baby. On the island since 2013, it's well-seasoned in giving clubbers exactly what they want. The wicked behaviour continues until 14 September.

Fridays are those days that presents themselves as you're starting point to a debauched weekend, and Swag certainly seems to be aiming for heaven with God Level. Fit for the divine among us, it brings the finest in funk, R&B and classic revival hits, with Nurai DJ, DJ Drew, DJ Jay Shem being the showmen behind the booth.

Soul2Soul on Saturdays brings you the best of hip hop, R&B, soul, funk, trap and mash-ups. Boasting a slew of celebrity guests, it reached full capacity last season which makes it a firm hotspot to experience in 2017. Top DJs already confirmed include the Red Bull Thre3Style World Champion DJ Pro Zeiko and Urban Charts Breaker DJ Polique, as well as DJ Kace, DJ Mase, DJ Rapture, plus many more.

Out to encourage the big cat within you every Sunday throughout June, July, August and into September is SAFARI. Brought to you directly from the Canary Islands, this fiesta series is out to drag you into the animal kingdom with the tastiest in reggaetón, trap and denbow. Alongside resident Jay Lopez, guests include Bsoul, DJ Drew and a whole load of guests still to be announced. You've got until Sunday 10 of September to flash your wild side, so make sure you do.

In Swag's own words, it's “daring, in your face and what's different in Ibiza.” If that sounds like your bag, you know exactly where you need to get those peachy butts of yours.
