New Year’s dive Ibiza style

Get fresh for 2016.

What better way to revive the senses than a dive into the sea on New Year's Day. Vino & Co, the wine shop and wine bar in San Jordi is holding its 5th annual New Year dive on 1 January at Salinas Beach in between the Guarana and Malibu beach clubs.

Everyone is invited to take part in the dives, with the first one starting at 12pm midday. There will be two further dives at 1pm and 2pm for any latecomers and stragglers. Vino & Co will be offering sparkling wine to all those that attend and ask that you bring along drinks and also food for everyone to share, such as pies, pancakes a salad or whatever you want.

It really is an event for the whole family, sets of friends and pets and you are invited to come as you feel, whether hung over or fresh as a daisy. And, if you fancy dressing up, knock yourself out!

The event came about from a joke between the owners of Vino & Co and some friends and five years ago, they decided to do the dives for real. Last year the event attracted over 200 people, so with your help that'll be the target to beat this year.

Diving into the sea on New Year's day is a tradition in Holland where people jump into a very cold North Sea. Ibiza will promise much milder temperatures at this time of year, with the most recent sea temperature reading around 17 degrees centigrade.

Welcome the New Year in with some vigour and join in on this fun meet-up.
