Ibiza Soundtrack: July 2015

Ten musical gems that have raved around Ibiza speakers this month.

Claude von Stroke
‘Barrump'

The Dirtybird man brought this musical jewel to life in the 12'' he released the past May and Ibiza's big bosses have been playing it constantly this month, usually letting it sound through the DC10 or Sankeys speakers. The track is hypnotic with a sexy bass line and groove that synchronizes your body with the rhythm. BAAAAARRUMP!

Jamie xx
‘Gosh' (Jaap Ligthart remix)

Produced by Jamie XX in his solo debut album, this unofficial remix, made by Jaap Ligthart, has been heard all around the island. Sasha has played it at Space, Mano Le Tough has played it at Amnesia, (choosing the unreleased Tale of Us remix in this case) and the crowd has chanted its Oh My Gosh motto along these past weeks. Thank you, Jamie.

Jean Claude Ades & Betoko
‘Smiling At Me'

This more than eight minute tech-house production, released under Ibiza label Be Crazy Music, has been rinsed in clubs, cars and chiringuitos this summer thanks to its incessant and contagious bass line and its sexy vocals. Every time these two heavyweights get together, their work is bound for success.

Lorde
‘Tennis Court' (Flume remix)

One for the melodic lovers, Tennis Court has been remixed and played by Australia's Flume in his one and only Ibiza performance at the beginning of the month as well as by Axwell and Ingrosso at Ushuaïa among other spots on the isle. Lorde's tune invites you to flow with her amazing vocals, intensified by Flume's echoed synths and strong electronic pulse which convert it into such a banger.

Koze
‘XTC'

DJ Koze did it again. The man from Pampa gets existential with this dreamy standout single played by Papa Sven at the Heart opening and now bleeding out into Ibiza techno-sphere. An eight-minute sonic journey which progressively changes from a sweet and slow-burner into a demanding serotonin come-down, robotic female voice included.

The Knife
‘Silent Shout' (Shaken Up Version)

The Knife duo has transformed their Silent Shout into a colourful, intensely rhythmic and joyful eruption track, in this deliriously sped-up version that has been played a lot since the beginning of the summer, courtesy of Sven Vath in Cocoon parties; such a jam!

Mind Against & Somne
‘Vertere'

This sonic gem is probably the most played at our night clubs, courtesy of Tale Of Us, Mano le Tough, Adriatique and obviously, Mind Against. The propulsive bass, the melodic synth and the undercurrent of percussion make it a perfect techno track for the dancefloor; you wont stop moving.

Josh Wink
‘Talking to You'

We began to hear it during last season's closing parties, but it seems that the Philadelphia veteran's track is killing it this summer too, after its official release. An acid excursion to Wink's world, with his characteristic machine-gun blasts and titular vocal refrain you can't get out of your mind.

Ricardo Villalobos
‘MDMA'

Oldie but a goldie. Villalobos played it at Cocoon, Jamie Jones and The Martinez Brothers played it at Paradise Opening and we're going to listen it along the summer without any doubt. A classic that has come back, a track that gets you riled up for night of aggressive dance.

Martin Solveig & GTA
‘Intoxicated'

The French Martin Solveig came back this season under the Spinnin' Records label to fill the white isle with this tune. Intoxicated, with GTA collaboration, is the new summer anthem for the EDM lovers, a rhythm house track accompanied with catchy vocals that will make you chant every time you hear it.
