The assembled categories have been hung; the dexterous nominees have been listed and voting for the 18th edition of the DJ Awards is now open. Meet on the Beat will be 2015’s theme in a heartened salute to the unifying power of music to connect the people who gather underneath its airwave carving layers.
The voting public, who will be automatically entered into a draw for an exclusive chance to win invites to attend the ceremony, can cast their votes in 10 categories including Deep House, Electronica, Tech House,Techno, Trance, Newcomer, Breakthrough and International DJ. Two categories have undergone a revamp with Electro becoming Electro/Progressive House and Drum & Bass/Dubstep changing to Bass - an umbrella for Drum & Bass, Dubstep and Garage.
From the momentous mainstays to the fresh ground breakers, the titans of their category have earned their place after months of heavy deliberation led by the guidance of a panel of prominent key names within the dance music industry. The final cut of nominees who stand within the chance of winning a prestigious Kryptonite award cross over an immense spectrum of DJs from Loco Dice in the techno camp, Dixon laying it down in the deep house haven, to Armin Van Burren flying the flag for trance and Rødhåd riding it out for breakthrough.
Aside from the awards as voted by the public, also announced are the Special Industry Awards. These special 12 which include Ibiza music event, outstanding contribution and track of the season, will be chosen by the DJ Awards panel and presented during the ceremony.
Tuesday, September 29th will see Pacha unite DJs and the music industry from the far reaches of the globe with 1200 invited guests to descend on the Balearic venue for what, in its 18th celebratory year, remains the original DJ poll dedicated to the electronic music culture.
