Eric Prydz has been a very busy so-and-so this summer. Between his two colossal appearances on the White Isle at BBC Radio 1’s Weekend in August and Cream’s mammoth 20th Birthday celebration in July, Prydz has been grafting away in prep mode for Eric Prydz EPIC 3.0, a live show that’s to be held in Madison Square Garden, New York on Saturday 27th September.
Now if you are thinking the Swede doesn’t sound too rushed off his feet then take in to consideration that Prydz and his crew have been preparing for EPIC 3.0 for nearly a year, with the event taking about sixty people to produce the show from top to bottom. That’s right folks; this spectacle is set to be a big one. With Prydz stating that 90% of the music he plays at EPIC 3.0 will be new, there’s definitely going to be a few treats in store and even more so now it has been announced rising star and fellow Swede Jeremy Olander is also joining the bill.
Olander has not only being touted as The New Eric Prydz but also dubbed as The Saviour of Progressive House (talk about that for a double whammy), recently signing a ground-breaking multi-release deal with the one and only Pryda Recordings. His 3 track EP, Jackie, will be the label’s very first release from an artist other than the main man himself, a milestone for the imprint as it celebrates its 10th year.
Stockholm-native Olander was signed to Prydz’s Pryda Friends label in 2011, making him the first ever young artist to be championed by the Grammy nominated producer and DJ. His name might ring a bell thanks to the Beatport Top 10 smash Let Me Feel but his latest offering, out Monday 29th September, marks the first release of new material since his tech-fuelled progressive belter Bandersnatch from last December.
With a promising up-and-coming record and a supporting slot at EPIC 3.0, its clear Prydz has faith in the young Swede.
