We Love... locking down Sundays at Space

Normal Sunday service is resumed on Ibiza.

Four years I've worked at Ibiza Spotlight, seven years of visiting the island and the one party that has remained a firm favourite for me throughout that time has been We Love... Space Sundays. Best described as a family gathering in place of the traditional British sunday roast dinner, only with different company, no food and certainly no episodes of You've Been Framed, Downton Abbey, Match of the Day 2 or Songs of Praise. Hallelujah.

It is true that the party has undergone many transformations over the years: starting life as the much loved 'Home', where the likes of Steve Lawler made his name as the 'king of the terrace', the covering of the terrace itself, the change from the 23 hour long party when the rules were more relaxed on fun in Ibiza, to the more recent development that has seen the duo of Mark and Sarah Broadbent - who made We Love the name we share such happy memories with - leave the party to go on to other things. Despite all of these moments, the party remains one of the strongest on the island and we at Spotlight remain the strongest of supporters.

2014 has seen the party join forces with Safehouse Management, the team who bring you Carl Cox Music Is Revolution on Tuesdays at Space and the Float Your Boat parties. The music policy has seen a shift towards a broader compatibility with the people's interests with a less 'chin strokey' approach but massive increase in the levels of fun that can be expected as a result. This is a party for the happy people, after all.

Other changes for this season include the grand return of day-time clubbing at Space! This is one of the defining characteristics of We Love in the early to middle stages of its life. The party started in the early morning hours of Sunday and ran for almost 24 hours, allowing you to drop back in and out as you managed the state of your mind and body. So, for 2014 the Space Sunset Terrace opens from 4:30pm with a specially curated line-up based around the concept titled 'Stripped'. The idea is remove all the musical snobbery and VIP culture by making the line-ups entirely unannounced all season long, bringing together the right people for the right reasons in a space that will be transformed each Sunday to make use of daylight clubbing. Notably, coming this early will ensure your ticket is the cheapest on sale too. More music. More fun. Less money.

Before we take a look at the highlights of the seasons line-ups, we can reveal that Ibiza Spotlight will be presenting a carefully selected array of artists from the island and beyond to perfectly showcase all that we love about Ibiza. Titled 'Ibiza Spotlight presents...', we will host the We Love... El Salon on three separate dates - 29th June, 27th July and 7th September, with a fourth date on Tuesday 19th August with Carl Cox. More on this soon, but come celebrate Ibiza and 15 years of Ibiza-Spotlight.com with us.

We have already talked about the residents, with the likes of Sasha, Disclosure, Skream and James Zabiela hosting their own rooms through the season, with other residents too. You should also already know that Loco Dice is hosting his birthday party at the club on the 10th of August, but details had been thin on the ground until this point. Joining Loco Dice on the 10th will be a massive selection of his favourites and friends, such as tINI, Josh Wink, Chris Liebing, Martin Buttrich and so on. Big.

Taking it back to the start of the season and June 15th is looking particularly enticing - James Zabiela, Route 94, Ben Pearce, Michael Mayer and Roman Flügel. But then the week later, 22nd June, sees the first of the Disclosure presents Wild Life sessions with very strong line-ups across both main rooms, and perhaps not with names you would expect Disclosure to choose. The last date of June, the 29th, is the first of the Ibiza Spotlight presents dates, with a huge set of artists across all rooms. Sasha and his Last Night On Earth label hosts the terrace whilst the discoteca goes bad boy techno with Carl Craig, Joris Voorn and Pan-Pot live.

July has the Space 25th Birthday event on 13th July with Skream hosting the terrace. No word on the rest of that line-up just yet, although you're unlikely to be disappointed. The end of the month has James Zabiela and Sasha hosting their own room and curating their own line-ups with Gorgon City, Hot Chip and Heidi being the standout artists.

August goes straight in with Âme knocking out some techno, whilst Technasia, DJ W!ld and Joris Voorn also play on the night of the 3rd, a week before Loco Dice's big birthday stompathon (hip hop takeover ahoy!) Other highlights for the month include Henrik Schwarz live, Dusky and Carl Craig on the 17th, Danny Tenaglia on the 24th, and an Ivan Smagghe/Daniel Avery back-to-back session on the 31st.

The season closes out in September with a special event on the 7th (more on that soon), more Wild Life madness from Disclosure (Live) and Soul Clap on the 14th, a Visionquest 5 hour terrace session on the 21st and a collection of favourites closing the season out on the 28th September.

We Love... Space Sundays is back people. Reunite the family.
