This Friday the 23rd of May an Ibiza legend is back on home turf, with José Padilla returning to Café del Mar for a special Balearic chillout classics evening to celebrate the opening of Café del Mar's Terrace.
Moving to the island in 1975, Padilla's style of ambient electronica was such a perfect fit for Ibiza and its famous sunset moments, that his music sparked the global musical phenomenon that is the Café del Mar compilations. His sets were the perfect soundtrack to an incredible sunset, and his compilations sparked the imagination of millions worldwide, who longed to visit or return to Ibiza's famous sunset strip.
Whilst the clubs were pounding with house and techno, José tapped into another side of island life, showing the world the kind of spirituality and peacefulness that Ibiza could also represent.
