Café Mambo and the Ibiza and Formentera Red Cross have once more joined forces to bring you a charity event with a difference. The iconic sunset strip venue will host another Mambo In the Mix between 7pm and midnight on Thursday the 19th of September, providing a chance for DJs who’ve gained success from this island to give something back to its less fortunate communities.
So here’s the fun part. A decent selection of the world’s biggest DJs will be there taking part – but not as you expect. The DJs stand behind the bar this time, mixing drinks instead of beats and generally having a bit of a laugh. That leaves an open space behind the decks which you the public fill, by volunteering to play records at the Mambo booth in exchange for a donation to the Red Cross Charity.
The stellar list of DJ names announced so far includes Paul Van Dyk, Laidback Luke, MK, Felix Da Housecat, Cristian Varela, Darius Syrossian, Eddie Halliwell, Danny Howard, Kevin Saunderson, Duane Harden, Junior Sanchez, Sidney Samson, UNER, DJ Oliver, Eagles & Butterflies, Vula (Basement Jaxx), and Mendo.
Last year the Mambo In The Mix bar staff consisted of Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, Eric Prydz, Judge Jules, Roger Sanchez, Hernan Cattaneo, Nervo, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Cassius, M.A.N.D.Y., Funkagenda, Woody Van Eyden and Mark Fanciulli. The event raised a whopping 31,000€, so we can only hope for bigger things this time around.
If you are unable to make it to this unique event, you can still make a difference.
