Editors' Choice - 22nd August 2013

A Must Read for Ibiza Virgins to experienced visitors - the real Ibiza, each week, every week for Summer 2013.

Thank goodness we have some spectacular recommendations this week because I have to apologise in advance. Normally when I sit down to pull together the best of Ibiza for the week, I have a subject I want to address. In some ways, this week is no different. I do have a subject I want to address but … I'm going to have to wait (at least) a week.

*twiddles thumbs, looks around*

Nope, nothing for it. I really can't tell you this week so let us just head straight into some great options to keep you (and me!) entertained in the meantime.

Psst, see you next week though - because it is all about you and the best ... oops, nearly gave it away! My bad!

Things to Do.

Ibiza is surrounded by perhaps some of the most beautiful clear waters to be found anywhere in the Mediterranean. The island also has a very strong sea-fairing history. Combine these two facts with a super degree of safety and expertise from Scuba Ibiza and you are in for a treat!

Restaurant of the Week.

I've already been back once since this review was undertaken and indeed am planning to go back again next week – introducing you to Hidden Bar, Cala San Vicente – we really think you should know about it (perhaps see you there!)

Villa of the week

Villa Juan Vich I, a typical Spanish finca set in lush gardens with a large pool, a pergola for relaxing and many seating areas to enjoy al fresco dining. This villa is ideally located within easy access to both Ibiza and Santa Eulalia, famous for their great variety of restaurants and shops. You'll find beautiful beaches, the golf course, water sports and many other activities close by to keep you entertained.

Now with a 15% discount for September - Juan Vich I can be booked with 3 bedrooms for €400 per night or 4 bedrooms for €530 per night.

Hotel of the Week

Just back from Ibiza and missing it already? Time to plan for 2014? No worries - we've got that covered for you as we start to organise and release 2014 places and prices. This week Puerto de Cala Vadella Apartments have caught our eye - beautiful location and much more besides! Check it out!

Fashion Tip of the Week

Over a million revellers are estimated to descend on London's' Notting Hill this weekend. Expect scantily clad beauties in full Carnival attire dancing with friendly policemen in Europe's biggest street party. Here in Ibiza we don't need an excuse to take the party to the streets or shake our booty. Embrace the carnival spirit by indulging in this year's biggest Ibiza fashion trend for men and women, body painting. Head down to Kiss My Fairy and have one of their highly trained artists transform your body into a sexy tiger, neon Zebra or any other fantasy character, Avatar style.

Clubbing

As announced already last week, one of this week's highlights is tonight's ENTER at Space with Cocoon head honcho Sven Väth playing a guest set. In my opinion it really doesn't get much better than this, Richie Hawtin and Papa Sven together in Space's Discoteca - this is the stuff legends are made of.

Next week will be a bit of a special one as, looking closely at our party calendar, you'll notice a few headliners are missing at their own nights. Guy Gerber isn't playing at his Wisdom Of The Glove night at Pacha and Jamie Jones also has an off-date at his own Paradise night at DC10. The reason behind this is Burning Man. The big desert gathering over in the USA attracts a lot of Ibiza residents each year and a lot of DJs are also flying over to play and enjoy the unique atmosphere. But don't worry, we'll stick around here meanwhile!

And believe it or not, the first closing parties are already around the corner. A few promoters only doing a mini-season stop at the end of August: David Guetta's F*** Me I'm Famous at Ushuaïa (his main residency at Pacha continues until the start of October though) as well as Pete Tong's Le Grand Bazaar and Avicii's own residency (both also Ushuaïa) all end next week. This can only mean one thing: September, the best month of the year, is on our doorstep! :-)"
