IMS 2013 Grand Finale: Friday Lineup Announced

Väth, Coles, Solomun, Scuba, Tensnake and Le Carousel. BIG!.

The wait is over as Sven Väth, Maya Jane Coles, Solomun and Scuba, with live performances from Tensnake and Le Carousel, have finally been announced to play the International Music Summit Grand Finale on Friday 24th May. The venue will be the UNESCO World Heritage site of Dalt Vila, Ibiza old town, overlooking the marina and all of Ibiza Town.

Sven Väth is of course a mainstay of dance music culture around the world, and Ibiza in particular as he and his Cocoon party at Amnesia runs into its 14th year during this coming season. Appearing in a special Keynote Interview at the Summit on the same day, this is a unique chance to catch Sven playing outside his Cocoon residency and in one of the most amazing locations of the island. Maya Jane Coles is the undisputed champion of the underground, rising up through the ranks of respect and credibility over the last few years to become one of the most in-demand DJs of recent years. Although Solomun and the Diynamic label he runs has been around for many years, there is no denying that 2012 was his year, as you can find out in our recent interview with him. Scuba, meanwhile, is one of the many who now call Berlin his home which no doubt is also his inspiration, and completes the DJ lineup. Continuing the trend of years gone by, we have two live performances from Tensnake, who's big tracks include 'Coma Cat' and 'Mainline' ft the vocals of Syron, and Le Carousel - brainchild of Irishman Phil Kieran. All artists will also appear as guest speakers at the IMS.

We at Spotlight think this is the biggest line up the old walls Dalt Vila have ever seen! This is what Ben Turner, one of the five IMS partners says: "Friday at Dalt Vila has become one of the highlights of the Ibiza season, and we are delighted with this year's line-up. Its hard to top Carl Cox and Loco Dice from last year, but we have two of Ibiza's hottest names of the moment in Solomun and Maya Jane Coles, but also the man who created the foundation for underground music in Ibiza – Sven Vath. Without his pioneering work with Cocoon, this huge underground movement, which now rules Ibiza, would never have happened. So time to celebrate this moment."

This years International Music Summit, a conference where 500 delegates who have a vested interest in the dance music industry come from around the world to attend, is working to the theme of 'Beyond the Boom Boom'. The theme is set to look at how dance music has expanded internationally, with the business spilling out of the confines of the dancefloor and into mainstream culture. It will also focus on where the industry goes in the future after the goldrush.

- First release tickets for Friday are priced at 40€.

- The first 500 Friday Grand Finale Festival tickets also include free entry to the Thursday IMS party (same as last year).
