Defected have announced that after 7 successful years at Pacha, they will no longer be holding parties at the venue. It is not yet known what their plans will be for the 2013 season, but rest assured Defected will be back to hold their world famous parties.
Defected enjoyed solid releases from its label in Pirupa's 'Party Non-Stop', also winning 'Track of the Year' at the Ibiza DJ Awards, where Defected In The House guest Solomun also received ‘Producer of the Year Award’ in his breakthrough Ibiza season, and support with artists of the moment along with the continued relationship with Defected stalwart Bob Sinclar that has ensured that the UK brand has grown and enjoyed one of its most successful years in 2012.
“Pacha is an incredible discotheque and we have enjoyed seven amazing seasons at the club. The current House music renaissance meant 2012 was our most successful summer to date, with acts such as Solomun and Dennis Ferrer striking the right chord on the island. This reflects the popularity we are currently enjoying both in terms of music sales and attendances at our events. Ibiza’s clubbing landscape, however, is rapidly evolving and these are exciting times. Continuing a tried and trusted formula would have been the easiest option but next summer will be our tenth on the island and our achievements last summer give us a great platform to look at the new opportunities available to us. So, to conclude, we will not be at Pacha next summer and shall announce our plans for 2013 early in the New Year” - Simon Dunmore, founder and A&R Director.
