It's been an exciting week for young Ibicenco artist Marcos Torres who learned that one of his works had been sold in Christie's, the prestigious British auction house in London's South Kensington, alongside works by Warhol, Picasso, Hockney and Banksy.
Pow! A screen print of 60's iconic model Twiggy packing a pistol went going, going, gone for a cool £1500 in an auction where works by Henry Moore, Richard Hamilton and Gerald Laing were taken back to the storeroom after receiving no bids.
Torres is well known in Ibiza for his pop art prints on t-shirts featuring themes like blaxploitation movies, Northern Soul and other retro themes from popular youth culture. Just have a look at his website and you'll see what I mean, you might even want to order a couple of T's!
