I can recall my first massage. I was quite nervous, body conscious I guess. However the experience was lovely, reassuring and ever since I have been a fan.
Nonetheless, as it has for many, life has taken its toll and I don’t just mean the extra few soft inches here and there (I’m pretty much over the body conscious bit now) but am referring to skeletal damage. For those sporting injuries, finding the right masseur can be a little worrying – or it was until now.
Enter Pablo, a trained Masseur (including Deep Tissue!) and Reiki practitioner who, with quiet passion, furthered his skills by studying for four years to become a registered Osteopath. Meeting him, I discussed my various fragilities, all of which he took in his stride with an easy confidence. With a range of options available – an Osteopath session, a massage, a mix of both and many more, I liked the idea of a combination.
Sometimes in life you meet people who seem born for their work and so it was with Pablo. Within moments I was relaxed and happily drifting as my body was stretched, pulled, pushed and effortlessly moulded, knots and aches fading. I kept having to remind myself to study the experience for the review rather than just drift off into happy oblivion!
With confidence he worked on the areas of damage that my skeleton reflects and I listened to the little pops and sudden easing of tension that resulted. Gosh, this was good.
A full hour and a half later I rose and dressed, noticing that I seemed to stand better, more easily – something that was observed by people I joined a short while later. Although I had a fraught schedule after the massage, I seemed to glide through most of it, the lack of tension noticeable.
Pablo is legally registered to work on Ibiza and offers several skills, a few which really caught my eye. Aside from those listed above, he is also trained to undertake the celebrated cranial-sacral massages (great for easing tension headaches amongst other things) and has specialised as part of his Osteopathic training in treating children for Coelic! This one really caught my eye as I have friends who are parents to children who experience this.
The icing on the cake is that Pablo can be booked for residential appointments, travelling direct to your apartment, hotel or villa with only a nominal extra charge.
Residential visits can be booked at 90 euros for a one hour session or 130 euros for 90 minutes.
