Artist: Kris Menace
Title: Electric Horizon
Label: Compuphonic
Release Date: 04/04/12
Filled with beautiful synths and throbbing basslines, this album could easily be the perfect soundtrack for the car or the club. The album has what many, but not all, listeners look for in music - real breakdowns with sections that build and build - it's the type of music that makes you want to be in that club environement basking in the glory of the moment. I think they call it euphoria. It draws many similarities from genres such as trance and progressive whilst still retain a house feel to it, although he refers to it as Nu Disco.
Over the 12 tracks there are no real weaknesses, it all takes on a very sci-fi feel (which is continued on in the teaser video below) which makes sense with the heavy use of synth, but I guess if I were to have a favourite track on the album it would probably be track 4, the aptly named eFeel, and it is certainly one to enjoy with a good subwoofer for that bass.
After a heap of collaborations with many well respected artists, and now the release of this album, there are signs of a very bright future on the horizon for Kris, give this a listen and let us know what you think. Coz' I like it.
