It's been a while since MTV have been involved in a project in Ibiza, so the news that they'll be teaming up with Amnesia to host 10 Friday night parties is yet more positive vibes for the island on the cusp of the 2011 season.
In some ways, Fridays at Amnesia in 2010 can be seen as a precursor to this year's plan, having already hosted a pair of 2ManyDJs live shows, a M-nus showcase headlined by Richie Hawtin and included other live performances to push, especially, the visual aspect of the entertainment.
Now branded 'I Want My MTV Ibiza' - we won't patronise you by explaining that one! - the parties will run for 10 weeks and so far include Duran Duran, Richie Hawtin as Plastikman, 2ManyDJs, Mark Ronson as well as DJs like Marco Carola, James Holden and Magda. Layo & Bushwhacka and Mar-T are residents in the Main Room, with the fireworks taking place on the more expansive Terrace.
Plenty of names are being banded about at the moment, I'm not sure where to begin with the other rumours, suffice to say the party is loaded with big hitters from across the worlds of pop and dance.
