Last night the Mercury Prize-nominated Editors played to another full house at Bar M, following on from the successful 2006 launch of the Ibiza Rocks concept last week. Once again all available viewing space in the VIP and downstairs was utilised and expectations were aroused.

Looking at a set list that includes songs called 'Blood', 'Bones' and 'Bullets' you could be forgiven for thinking the UK four piece would perhaps be too gloomy to suit the summery vibe that Ibiza specialises in. However Editors brought everybody up magnificently.

Should lead singer Tom Smith's odd moves be exhibited on the dance floor the strobe would be turned off and an ambulance called but his spazzy spasms projected well from the stage. Clearly the music was coursing through every part of his body and emanating in controlled bursts through his fingers and vocal cords.

The Editor's sound is emotionally resonant jangly guitar pop and was reproduced perfectly live - the drums kicked like an angry gazelle, the bass pumped like relentless oompah band, the sharp guitar riffs jagged like a kite on a windy day and there was no need for anybody in the front row to stuff their ears with tissue paper.

Tight band plus magnetic frontman equals a very happy audience and many in attendance will look upon the gig as the highlight of their holiday.

This Thursday (July 20) the indie invasion continues with ex-Libertine and current Dirty Pretty Thing Carl Barat's Ibiza debut, followed swiftly by the Streets Sound System on Friday (July 21). Both are at Bar M, tho Mike Skinner and crew will join the chav and chav nots up at Privilege in San Rafael for the big club event.

Also on the bill are James Lavelle, Colin Peters, the bearded and Filthy Dukes (below), Tom Middleton, Trailor Park Trash, Griff and flamenco guitarist Paco Fernandez. Glamour to Kill lead singer Antonio will be the master of ceremonies.
