Now that December’s arrived we can officially start talking about the festive season in Ibiza. As usual the big towns will be having a full programme of events based mostly in the special marquees erected specially for the purpose in Ibiza, San Antonio, Santa Eulalia, and San Jose.
In addition, some traditional mainstays of the Christmas season are already underway. The Christmas market and craft fair is now open for business in Ibiza’s main square, the Vara de Rey, and the giant Christmas tree there looks as splendid as ever. Just opposite in Ibiza’s pensioners’ club, the annual art supermarket is taking place where punters can purchase a future masterpiece at a knock down price.
Across the island the famous Las Dalias market opens its Christmas edition this Friday. Alternative present hunters can browse there from Monday to Friday 17.00 to 22.00, Saturday 11.00 to 22.00, and Sunday 15.00 to 22.00.
In San Antonio there will be a Christmas market behind the church starting this Saturday.
As there are still two weeks until the big day, we understandably have not yet received the details of the programmes from some of the ‘organisers’ but as soon as we do we’ll let you know. So stay tuned to Ibiza Spotlight.
