Picture this - you've just taken your towel for a stroll to the beach and about your person you have all the normal everyday things needed for a day out on a sunlounger.
But where to put your passport, €500, travellers cheques, credit cards, Rolex Oyster watch, and mobile phone when you want to take a dip? San Jose council have just come up with the answer in the form of beach strongboxes which are safe and secure and can be hired for only €2 a day.
Situated by the showers on Playa d'en Bossa beach the 200 strongboxes are accessed by a pin number chosen by the client - so you don't have to worry about where to put the key when you go swimming.
The council plans to put another set of strongboxes on Playa d'en Bossa this year as well as es Cavallet and Las Salinas. Next year all the beaches of San Jose will have them.
