Ibiza isn't normally associated with matters equine although we do have plenty of riding schools and stables and of course the trotting events which take place mostly at the San Rafael Hippodrome. However things might be about to change with the news that a new state of the art horse breeding centre has opened in San Rafael.
Millions of Euros have been invested in the finca Los Olivos to ensure that the 32 examples of pure thoroughbred Spanish horse which have been brought from Andalucía enjoy the best conditions possible.
The 80,000 square metres of land has been cleaned up, there are special paths which are more comfortable on the horses feet, and a enormous swimming pool has been built with fabulous views where the horses can have a cooler and a game of water polo in the hot summer. Still, when you've got champion on the premises only the best is good enough.
