Ibiza gaol is the last place in Spain that prison officers and administrators want to end up!
It's one of the last on the list of chosen destinations for prison staff because of the island's perceived isolation from the rest of the country and the comparatively high cost of living here with accommodation prices pushed up by the tourist industry.
Prison staff here actually get lower wages than many other places in Spain because they don't receive 'danger money' - an added bonus for looking after cut-throats, psychopaths and murderers - because Ibiza gaol doesn't have many of this type of prisoner.
Once new staff have completed their on the job training in Ibiza, they're off, and 40% have flown the nest this year so far.
