The Ibiza Town council, to their credit, organise guided tours round the Cathedral area of the old town in an evening, when the cooler air makes the hike to the top less rigorous. However to the embarrassment of the tour guides with dozens of people in tow, the council hadn't organised any illumination as the nights draw in. This led to the ridiculous situation last week of crowds of 'sightseers' stumbling about myopically, by the eerie glow of cigarette lighters, wondering where Ibiza's World Heritage site had disappeared to. Happily, the council have acted quickly to rectify this and the lights will now go on at 19.30 when it starts to get dark.
