The National Police Corps have arrested four people in Ibiza for their alleged involvement in a plan to flood the island's discotheques with 200,000 ecstasy tablets.
Their arrest is linked to the capture of other members of the gang in Madrid who were in possession of 9 kilos of MDMA (pure ecstasy) which would have been used to manufacture the tablets.
The Ibiza section of the gang were all of Dutch or Belgian nationality whilst in Madrid, the gang contained some well known faces who have a long history of gang membership and drug running.
The arrest comes almost exactly a year after Ibiza police swooped on an Italian gang here, confiscating 235,000 ecstasy tablets which at the time was the biggest drugs bust in history.
