The colourful and noisy celebration of San Jose day Valencia style comes to San Antonio at the weekend. Held later than the official celebration, it allows members of the Valencian community on the island to return to their home city for the giant festival, and then celebrate again on Ibiza.
In a party that lasts 3 days there will be bands, singing, dancing, church services, parades and finally, the burning of giant (and more often than not, satirical) papier-mâché images to the accompaniment of really noisy fireworks.
The action takes place in the Ses Variades area of San Antonio from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th March.
