Ibiza town's riotous Mardi Gras carnival and parade will be undergoing some changes this year. For the first time in its history (bar when it was postponed because of bad weather) the parade will not take place on a Saturday night.
The morning of Sunday 22nd February is now the date for the carnival, and the change has been made to allow the younger members of the public to take part in the big parade as the nights in February can be a bit chilly. Don't forget that in Ibiza the morning officially lasts up to about 4 PM, giving the sun plenty of time to warm things up!
As yet, the route of the parade has not been fixed because the Avenida España, the town's main thoroughfare, is still completely closed to traffic.
