Despite the triple threats to the tourist industry of war, terrorism, and the SARS virus, the nautical sector in Ibiza is set for full steam ahead for another successful season.
Already every available berth in the sports ports of Ibiza and Formentera is
reserved for the months of July and August, and 75 % reserved for May, June, and
September. Incredibly these figures have been unaffected for the last 6 years.
Add to this the 70,000 people due to arrive by cruise ship bringing €4.2
m with them and it's no wonder the tourist authorities here have already spliced
the mainbrace with a yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
