Ibiza's newspapers have been full of nothing but the forthcoming elections on May 25th.
Stories of who is promising to do what, when, and to whom, if they are elected have dominated the press column inches.
The strange thing is that electoral rules and conventions forbid politicians actually making personal contact with the electorate until midnight on 9th May. Thus, last Friday evening, Ibiza's main square was packed with politicians like sardines, chafing at the bit in an electoral Le Mans start as the clock struck twelve. Though if they found anyone interested in what they had to say at that time of the night is another matter!
