Following the example of the numerous excellent restaurants around the island, a new gastronomic association has been established to promote typical Ibicencan cuisine and preserve its heritage. Set up by cookery teachers from one of the local institutes, the society will hold most of its educational activities in the winter when people have more free time. Now comes the good bit, for on the four Saturdays commencing 19th October until 9th November, they will be cooking up a storm at the Hotel Royal Plaza, featuring lamb in sauce, skate, fried octopus and desserts of champions, flao and greixonera. Throw in local liqueurs frigola, hierbas and the deadly café caleta and you have a 'recipe' for success. The cost is only 15 € for non-members so book early!
