It's good news for all marine wildlife fans today as we bring you the tale of Terry the turtle, who was found in pitiful condition, injured by a fishing hook, in the crystal waters off Formentera. He was later saved thanks to the campaign fund of the WWF and CAM bank provided to to increase awareness of the plight of turtles in the Mediterranean where 30,000 a year die in fishing related accidents. With hook safely removed and after careful nursing our lucky turtle was then released back to his natural habitat in a blaze of glory at Talamanca beach. Interestingly for visitors to San Antonio, many injured turtles are taken to the natural cave aquarium near Cala Grassio where they can recover before being returned to the sea.
